If you ever want to feel like an adult and kid, at the same time in a candy store, then I suggest making the trip out to Dianda's. As soon as you walk in there is an abundance of sensory stimulation! A classic well-known, Italian bakery in the Mission district, brimming from display case to display case of Italian desserts. From nougat to pastries, petite fours, Cannoli's cream puffs, cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

Some of my favorites are the piped Merengue, crispy outside and chewy inside. Classic almond macaroons, the Mocha cake and by far the specialty of all specialties in my opinion; the Banana layer cake. Fresh slices of Banana layered in between fresh whipped cream, and a biscuit layer cake similar to a jaconde. It is a treat for sure, and it's even more special because it is specific to Dianda's. Shown in the picture is the Mocha cake and it too does not disappoint. Mocha whipped cream layered into chocolate cake iced with chocolate ganache. Elegant and classy.

We've celebrated Many birthdays with Dianda's as well, and it's always a delight.
