Well here we are, its 2024, and its the 4th of July. The temperatures in San Francisco this week are amazing, and there is a possibility the fog may hold itself back long enough, so that we can see the fireworks. Fingers crossed, we will see. In general the beautiful weather in the city has been well accepted.
It's a locals thing. We are really good at being partial to 4th of July in the city, primarily because year after year our natural marine layer brings in our natural air conditioning right around the time the sun sinks. We hope for a great viewing, but if not we will deflect our disappointment, and reflect on all the fun we had during the day.
Party during the day, and head out around 9pm only for the sky to be dull bursts of light booming behind a thick layer of fog.?! Whatever happens please show love to the barge ships, and the Pyrotechnic engineers who anchor the ships in the pacific. It's a phenomenal wonder in what they can do.
What are you making this year? Picnics BBQ's, I love it all. I usually do a pickled cucumber salad, broccoli slaw, sweet pork spare rib and fried chicken. But this time I may go back to the classics; grilled burgers, hot dogs, celery root salad. I'll be sure to update you, cheers to you and have a happy 4th!
Update; the fog crept in fast, however it was low enough when up close. It was a beautiful show.
