On a sunny Sunday morning, we canvassed Union street seeking a nice place to sit and have brunch. Sitting on a corner of Union Street, a well known cafe which we had yet to venture in to, caught our attention. Bright, vivacious and quaint, we were delightfully invited inside. A kind gentleman lead us into a quiet nook, where we were given relief from the heat outside, and it was just what our souls desired.
Inside, a premonition of hope in the air, for the restaurant community to receive life again. Simply ornate, the walls were refreshing and so was our service and food. A flavorful potato hash, adorned by a well poached egg boasts of sass and harmony. The other dish, an infusion of spinach and scrambled egg, afloat a well to-do slice of Texas toast. Flavors were balanced and light, enough to feel satisfied, but not overtly full, everything you would want from a brunch.
(We visited Rose's cafe shortly towards the end of the Pandemic. During this time when hope was bleak, and there weren't many options in the area. The people were kind and inviting. It is my assumption, like many restaurants they has struggled through many challenges. We are grateful for their dedication and their perseverance during this time. Rose's cafe received 5 kisses).
