On a Sunday evening, shortly before dusk washed over the Bay bridge, we found ourselves seated in a place kin to an aquatic menagerie. If one were to imagine, perhaps this may be the very dream, in another world, that lies beneath the surface of the San Francisco Bay. Beautiful tables draped in linen, pillars filled vibrantly with sea life. Antidotal and mesmerizing, and more so once the sun slid beyond the surface of the pier, bringing out the minute details that were hidden in the light of the afternoon coming into the evening, illuminating as such.
A seafood bisque, strikingly graceful and delicate, held so many flavorful treasures, quickly became a conversation piece. In-between courses the Bay Bridge lights began to dance and Cascade over the water front, a wonderful interlude to the next course. Bluefish gumbo, exquisite and absolutely delectable, took my dining experience to both new heights and depths which are, to say the least, unfathomable. This dish was phenomenal, an illustration to experience, expertise, and a love for fine cuisine. The Waterbar receives a lifetime full of hugs and kisses from me. Fine dining and excellence.
